Auditions

We will have auditions for Hello Dolly AND Matilda October  12th- 16th. You will only complete ONE audition form and/or ONE tech form, all audition materials including forms, audition songs, and conflict calendars are due on Friday, 10/9

We will have multiple Lafayette staff members involved for both shows, they are: Amie Kisling (Director), Cassady Gorrell (Choreographer ), Laura Howard/Joseph Wrightson (Vocal Director), and Phil Kent/Aaron Breek (Conductor)

- HELLO DOLLY- 
The performance for Hello Dolly will be January 28, 29, 30, and 31 in Beeler Auditorium
We will have a cast of 60-70 students
We will have 20ish technicians
We will have a live orchestra of 25ish students. Please see Mr. Kent for more information  
First Rehearsal will be October 26th

- MATILDA -
The performance for Matilda will be April 29th, 30th and May 1st in Beeler Auditorium
We will have a cast of 30-35 students

Smart artists read the materials before auditions! We suggest you read and listen to "Hello, Dolly!" and "Matilda" before auditions so you can do your best work! ​

How do I audition?

Complete these steps to audition for our upcoming musicals:

STEP 1
Submit the Audition Form - Tell us about yourself and let us know whether you are auditioning for one or both musicals.

STEP 2
Complete the Conflict Calendar - DUE FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9th 

• A personalized link is sent to you via email after completing your audition form.
• Fill out the conflict calendar for each show you are auditioning for, look at the tabs on the bottom to see if you are filling it out for “Hello, Dolly!” or “Matilda”

STEP 3
Sign up to Dance and Act - If you are auditioning for 2 shows, you need to attend 2 different audition days
​​Hello Dolly Acting/Dancing Auditions are: 
Tuesday, October 13th from 3:30-5:30 OR Wednesday, October 14th from 3:30-5:30
Matilda Acting/Dancing Auditions are:
Thursday, October 15th from 3:30-5:30 OR Friday, October 16th from 3:30-5:30

STEP 4
Upload Your Vocal Audition - DUE FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9th
Record a 30–45 second musical theatre song showing your best vocals

• Songs may be performed with a track, piano accompaniment, or acapella.
• If performing with a track, please make sure there are no additional vocals on it
• Submit your video via the Google Form on our website or on the board across from Room 120 by 3:15 on Friday, OCTOBER 9th!

Callbacks for both shows will be held October 19-23 and lists will be sent out via the LHS Musical Auditions Student Square Group!

How do I apply to be a technician?

STEP 1
Thoughtfully complete the Tech Application form. This MUST be completed by the end of auditions. go.fcps.net/LHSMusicalTechForm
 
STEP 2

You may need to have tech interviews with Ms. Kisling. If she needs an interview with you she will contact you via Parent/Student Square

We will post the Cast and Crew list via the audition Student Square Group on Friday, October 23rd.
