Tradition
Lafayette Theatre has a long and storied tradition. The roots of the program extend to the first year that the school was established. Among the first shows produced by Lafayette Theatre were operettas presented by the choral department, under the direction of Mrs. Grace Dean. Lafayette's first production was The Chimes of Normandy, a light opera by Robert Plaquett and it was presented in December 1939.
